Istinjāʾ — hygiene after using restroom

For men, it is mandatory that no drops be left at the tip of the organ.

Traditionally, stones and water were used after a bowel movement. Westerners use toilet paper. It’s recommended to wipe an odd number of times, minimum three.

It’s frowned upon to use the right hand. It’s also frowned upon to use something of value like silk or cotton.

Qaẓāʾ al-Ḥājah — going to the bathroom

Enter the bathroom with the left foot, and seek refuge from Allāh

Leave the bathroom with the right foot, saying "Praise be to Allāh, Who removed harm from my body and granted me well-being"
