Raḥmah رَحْمَة — mercy, relief, gift, compassion, benevolence, humane

rahm - Arabic rahma: pity, compassion, forgiveness; sympathy, understanding; divine mercy. The root r-h-m also indicates womb; that which provides protection and nourishment, and that from which all of creation is brought into being. (hw384)

do not despair of God’s mercy- only disbelievers despair of God’s mercy 12:87

The Messenger of Allāh (peace be upon him) said, ‘A prostitute was forgiven by Allāh, because, passing by a panting dog near a well and seeing that the dog was about to die of thirst, she took off her shoe, and tying it with her headscarf, she drew out some water for it. So, Allāh forgave her because of that.’ [reported by Abū Hurayrah (Father of the Kitten), may Allāh be pleased with him]

  • Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin. 4:48
