Raqabah — neck; slave, captive

رَقَبَة رَقَبَات
noun singular plural
romanization raqabah raqabāt
pronunciation ˈrɑqɑbæh

Raqabah literally means ‘neck’.

  • When you meet non-believers in battle, strike them in the neck. Once they are defeated, bind any captives firmly until the toils of war have ended. Later you can release them by grace or by ransom. 47:4

More often, however, Raqabah means ‘slave, captive’.
