Chapter 112: al-Ikhlāṣ — Sincerity

  1. Say: It's Allāh, a Single One.
  2. Allāh, the Eternal all depends on.
  3. Allāh has no child, is child to none.
  4. Allāh is beyond comparison.

  1. qul huwa Allāhu aḥad.

  3. lam yalid wa-lam yūlad
  4. wa-lam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥad.

Verse 1

Abdel Haleem Say, ‘He is God the One,
Yusuf Ali Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
W. Khan Say, ‘He is God, the One,
M. Sarwar (Muhammad), say, "He is the only God.

Verse 2

Abdel Haleem God the eternal.
Umm Muhammad Allah, the Eternal Refuge.
Yusuf Ali Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
W. Khan God, the Self-sufficient One.
M. Sarwar God is Absolute.

Verse 3

Abdel Haleem He begot no one nor was He begotten.
Yusuf Ali He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
W. Khan He does not give birth, nor was He born,
M. Sarwar He neither begets nor was He begotten.

Verse 4

Abdel Haleem No one is comparable to Him.’
Yusuf Ali And there is none like unto Him.
W. Khan and there is nothing like Him.’
M. Sarwar There is no one equal to Him.
