- qul aʿūdhū bi-rabbi l-falaq.

- wa-min sharri al-affāthāti? fīl-ʿūqad.
- wa-min sharri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad.

|M. Sarwar||I seek His protection against the evil of the invading darkness,|
|Abdel Haleem||the harm in witches when they blow on knots,|
|Yusuf Ali||From the mischief of those who practise secret arts;|
|W. Khan||from the evil of those who blow on knots|
|M. Sarwar||from the evil of those who practice witchcraft|
|Abdel Haleem||the harm in the envier when he envies.’|
